News: New Moon Sets New Record for Advance Ticket Sales

No official number has been given yet, but The Twilight Saga: New Moon has broken online ticket seller Fandango’s record for advance ticket sales. A ticket buyer on Saturday night pushed the movie over the edge and into the record books. To top it all off, New Moon still has four more days to create distance from the previous record holder “Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.”
Here’s the all-time (the last 10 years) top five movies for pre-sale ticket orders according to Fandango:
1. The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)
2. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005)
3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
4. The Dark Knight (2008)
5. Twilight (2008)
So, New Moon has eclipsed Twilight in pre-sale tickets, will it eclipse Twilight at the box office this Friday? That would be an impressive feat as Twilight grossed 69.6 million dollars at the domestic box office the opening weekend. Also, do you think that Eclipse, the third installment in the Twilight Saga, will eclipse New Moon in pre-sale ticket orders? One thing is for sure, the Twighlight Saga is sucking the money out of girl's wallets everywhere...well, at least their parent's wallets.
